LWFR receives grant for AED’s and Stop-The-Bleed kits

Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue is proud to have been awarded a Regional Impact Grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington for placement of AED’s and Stop-The-Bleed kits,  and will participate in the organizations Give NCW fundraising campaign to help further this mission.

Studies show that during Cardiac Arrest, chances of survival decrease about 10% every 60 seconds. Getting immediate help is crucial. Lake Wenatchee volunteer firefighters have already placed several Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) in public areas in our District and have identified additional locations for future placement of additional units as well as Stop-The-Bleed kits.  Having easily accessible AEDs in public locations has proven to save lives during a Heart Attack or Cardiac Arrest Event. Locations such as Tall Timber Camp, Camp Zanika, Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp, Lake Wenatchee State Park, and Schools within the Cascade School District will benefit from this program.
