Snowshoers arrive at the North Beach, a halfway point during the guided First Day Hike each year.

FIRST DAY SNOWSHOE HIKE

Join Lake Wenatchee Park Staff for a brisk snowshoe hike around our frosty winter wonderland as we ring in the New Year in the great outdoors!

This is a fantastic hike for first-timers in snowshoes or adults with children. The hike is easy with varying views, plenty of opportunities for snowball fights and memorable photos!

A limited number of snowshoes are available to rent, please call ahead to reserve a pair.

Following the hike, hot cocoa and light snacks will be available for participants in the North Reservation Booth.

Location:  Meet at the North Reservation Booth. We will hike down to the river, gently proceed upriver to the North Beach, and then along the shore and back into the woods. Options to shorten your hike are available via the “Easy Street” trail, once we depart from the North Beach. We suggest taking a snack break and a group photo here!

Gear:  Wear warm clothes and dress in layers. Bring snowshoes, water, snacks, hiking poles, gloves, cameras and an adventurous spirit!

Difficulty:  Easy-peasy 🙂

Other:  Sno-Park permits are not required for our First Day Hike participants. A pit toilet is located at the meeting location, no restrooms are available during the hike.
