We are growing the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club Search and Rescue team. This group of volunteers supports the Sheriff’s department when they need volunteers to assist with a search and rescue in our area.  There is a need for additional team members to assist in both the summer and winter seasons.  To become Search and Rescue (SAR) qualified, you’ll have to pass an on-line test (it is easy, even I passed it), take a first aid class and pass a government background check.  We have a number of training events for those who are available and interested.  Plus we are planning a SAR picnic/party this summer.

If someone you know or a family member were lost, I know you would want as much help finding them as could be mustered.  This is a way you can help your neighbors and people who visit our area when there is a real emergency.  Becoming SAR qualified also insures you and your equipment when participating in a Sheriff Department managed search and/or rescue.

Our next  first aid training class is April 9 from 10:00 to 2:00 at the Rec Club.
