Hello everyone –

If you have been hoping to ski Nason Ridge, consider getting out here this weekend. First, an overview of our trails: We suffered through some terrible weather conditions in the past week: Extremely heavy, warm rain followed by several days of very warm wind and now freezing conditions with no new snow. The North and South trails are doing O.K. now that we have had stable temps below freezing – we have been able to work the surface enough to create decent conditions for skiing (despite very thin cover along river and lake shores). The Chiwawa must have more snow before we groom due to thin cover and standing / running water. Lower Nason has several washouts – with running water which currently require that the skis come off, but great conditions otherwise. Boa vs. Python ipod The Bluetoes Christmas Elf hd Cloak & Dagger The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D release

We have decided to put extra effort into Nason Ridge tomorrow morning, in part because we’re unable to groom Chiwawa. We will put both snocats out there in the early morning, one will be filling the washouts while the other grooms the upper trail system. If all goes well this trail should be in pretty good shape (possibly very good!) for skate and traditional skiing. Check out tomorrow’s report – by 7:30 a.m. we should be able to provide a good condition report. If you’ve been itching to get out there, this would be a good time. Who knows what the remainder of this bizarre season will bring.

Call us if you have questions – 509 763-3101

Rick

A new 3.5 mile round-trip trail will be groomed with a full skate lane and one track. It begins adjacent to the “motorized” SnoPark known as “Airstrip” and runs over nice terrain – easy to moderate in difficulty with nice views of Dirtyface Peak.

To access this, drive ½ mile north of the North State Park entrance on Hwy. 207 and turn right into the signed SnoPark (permit required). The parking area is primarily used by snowmobilers (if we do develop this trail in the future there would be a separate parking area for non-motorized users). Walk back out the driveway towards highway 207 and look for the snocat tracks which climb the snow berm on the right (north) side of the driveway, just shy of the highway. The grooming will begin just beyond this point.

This is a trial effort, approved by the USFS for this season. We are soliciting input from skiers and local landowners who have occasionally used this area in the past for snowmobiling. Be warned, there may be snowmobiles in the area or on the trail. Typically there has been very little use of this area by snowmobilers, but until when and if we formalize this trail there will be little to no restrictive signing. A condition of the permit is that we provide clear access from private property further north to the existing groomed motorized system. This isn’t fully in place yet, so snowmobilers may use this route for their access.

Please give it a try and let us know what you think!

Hello everyone,
We’re starting out the season with some unfortunate news. We will have no trails groomed out Nason Ridge this season due to logging on Longview Timber Company lands which begin immediately South of Kahler Glen Golf Course and include most all the trail system “up top”.
We will be grooming our “core trails”, including 8k in the South Park, 5.3k in the North (limited skate lanes), and 8k at Chiwawa See&Ski (skate lane full distance).
Though we never know for certain from year-to-year, Longview believes the logging will be completed this season and access to their land next season will likely resume. Many thanks to Longview Timber Company for allowing access to their land in the past, and we hope to be skiing up there next year!
