Salmon Season Update, Weekend looks Good

We checked with Fish and Wildlife on the catch counts minus the new fish coming over the dam at Tumwater.    As of Friday evening, looks like two more days of fishing are pretty much assured.  Next week is looking much more touch and go.  For those interested in more detail, here is the math vitamin:  [...]

Do I really need a License and Catch Card?

You can buy fishing licenses on line,  you need to visit a dealer to get a catch card.  We were visited by Fish and Game this afternoon while fishing.  We needed to show, licenses, catch cards, coolers, hooks and nets.  All polite and professional, however the ticket book was at the ready.

Missing Yellow Cooler

Sockeye Recipes…

Fishing Opener 2008

The first boats headed up lake around 5 am to greet the 2008 sockeye season.  There were about 75 boats out by 7:30.  General impression was slow until the sun rose then there was lots of action on all sorts of gear.  I only had a ‘knot free’ fly fishing net, I made it work…
