As we continue our analysis, it appears that the colder than normal temperatures continued through the month of August. I find it interesting the impact on our area a simple few degrees have. Highway 2 from Coles Corner to Leavenworth was closed Wednesday afternoon due to fire activity at mile 92 in Tunwater Canyon. It remains closed at 12 noon on Thursday August 18th and will remain so indefintely.

[ July 6, 2011; 12:00 am to 8:00 pm. ] The Forest Service wants to remove 64 miles of USFS roads in the Peshastin and Chumstick watersheds from public use. That proposal will be discussed in a public meeting tonight at 6PM at the Fire District 3 station across from the high school in Leavenworth.
