Jerry and Evelyn Andrews have contributed untold hours of service to this community in their enthusiastic and tireless support of your fire department. These efforts benefit us all with the addition of new or improved rescue equipment, firefighters safety gear and training supplies. Now it is our time to help them…………….

On December 9th, 2011, Jerry suffered an aneurism based stroke and a clot in the left ventricle of his heart. He was taken to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee then airlifted to Harborview Hospital in Seattle where he remains at this time. Evelyn has stayed by his side in the hospital day and night the entire time. It is anticipated and hoped that Jerry will soon be released to a skilled nursing facility in the Everett area for therapy and rehabilitation.

Jerry has lived in the Lake Wenatchee area for 24 years. He and Evelyn have been married for 16 years. They are self-employed- operating an upholstery, window covering and alterations business from their home and do beautiful work not only on furniture but also for boats and antique cars.

Jerry and Evelyn have been members of the Chelan County Fire District 9 Auxiliary since April of 2004. They have served as officers of the auxiliary and have also been in charge of the annual garage sale many times and have spent countless hours making that event the success it is. Now it’s our opportunity to help them with all the extra expenses of this time of medical crisis. We want to help them get back to our community, healthy and happy, so are holding this fundraiser on their behalf. Please help us help them………….

Pasta with sauce, salad, bread and desert will be served. Advance sale tickets are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. Tickets at the door are $10.00 per person.

Please join us to celebrate our 20 year anniversary! Last year over 125 people took the plunge with friends and family rooting them on. This year is shaping up to be even larger and grandeur.

After our event, all participants are invited to the Squirrel Tree Restaurant for a FREE bowl of hot chili.

As in past years, we will meet at the Lake Wenatchee State Park, South entrance. Since parking is limited, please try to car pool.

This year, your car must have either an Annual Discover Pass or valid Sno-Park Pass.
For your convenience, a Park Ranger will be at the entrance gate and can sell you a $10 daily pass if needed. Once the parking is full, the gates will be shut, so please come early.

Our annual “Plain Fun” Snowmobile Poker Run will be on December 31st this year. Sign up between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM for a great ride through the woods and help us raise money for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. This event starts and finishes at the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club. This will be a great way to start off your New Years Eve Celebration….

Some of you saw Duane Funderburk perform at Plain Community Church earlier this year.  He will be performing in a free one hour concert at Icicle Creek with students from Central Washington University on Tuesday, December 6 at 7:00 PM.  To learn more about this event, go to www.icicle.org and click on the third item in the right margin “FREE Piano String Chamber Concert CWU Music Dept.”

If you have not been there before, take Icicle Road out of Leavenworth and continue on it past Sleeping Lady Resort.  Look for a white board fence on the right, it tells you that you are getting near the turn to Icicle Creek.  The sign “Icicle Creek Music Center” will be on the left (it’s not a big sign), turn left into the parking lot.
