Ice Flag Contest 2017

It has been a decade since we have had major ice on Lake Wenatchee.  Long time readers of Lakewenatcheeinfo may recall that back in 2007 we had a “guess the day” the flag will fall contest.  You can track the status of the flag on Lake Wen 1 webcam.  To enter your guess add it as a comment on our Facebook page.  Bragging rights will be awarded to the winner.  This is a new flag, the old one is lost under the snow, the new flag is weighted so it should tip over when ice softens.  Please continue to use good judgement around the ice.

Great ice at Kahler Glen………..

Cold temperatures have resulted in great ice.  Multiple flooding has erased  the scars from last weekend ‘s activities.  On Thursday, the Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue  volunteers flooded the rink, leaving pristine ice behind. The ice thickness is a uniform  +18 inches at all points on the groomed rink.

At 7:00 AM Saturday it is snowing with 5″ on the rink.  There will be snow removal activity on the rink at times in an attempt to keep it clear for this weekend’s activities.  Volunteers are needed to man the snow blowers throughout the weekend.  Contact Gary at:   garymschuster@yahoo.com    Cell: 206 849 6466  The Current Status of the rink is updated on this website as conditions change; go to this homepage then , click on Reports.
