The Chelan County Board of Commissioners has set the Shoreline Master Program Hearing for July 11, 2017 at 1 pm at 400 Douglas Street, Wenatchee. Please mark your calendars and share your comments. Chelan County Public Works wants to make you aware of a recent change at the Dryden Transfer Station that was brought about by state law. State law prohibits plant material from tree limbs and clippings, brush, grass, etc.  from leaving apple maggot quarantine areas.

The 59’er Diner is back…….. Sort of

Pending completion of plans for a new building, the 59’er Diner has returned to Lake Wenatchee in a new form. The Flo-to-go version of the Diner is at the old location and will be open everyday from 11AM to 8PM serving salads, burgers,  chips and french fries, chicken tenders, corn dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the world famous shakes.  Welcome back!!

Missing dock ramp

Please join Merle’s family and friends for a Celebration of Merle’s Life at Stevens Pass Granite Peaks Lodge on June 17th. 

Merle Brooks, a pioneer in the local ski industry, passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Despite physical limitations, Merle was gifted with a positive outlook and worked his way to the top of the ladder at Stevens Pass ski area.

Since his retirement in 1995, no challenge was left unresolved. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Armiene; his daughters: Leere and Lisa; and grandchildren: Ryan, Kendra, Jordan, and Jaymie.

A Memorial will be held at Stevens Pass June 17th from 1-4pm. Remembrances in Merles name may be made to: Youth Experiential Training Institute, whose mission is developing grit in all youth through outdoor adventure ( at 226 SW 171st St., Normandy Park, WA, 98166

Donations for the Labor Day weekend yard sale of the Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue Auxiliary can be dropped off at the Plain fire station this Saturday, June 10th, from 10AM to 2PM.  This drop-off opportunity will also take place the second Saturday’s in both July and August.
