Sorry to know this too. Thanks to Doug and Barbara and the boys for the good times and the good food. We’ll miss this at the Squirrel Tree but wish them well in their future endeavors- I know they’ll succeed wherever they are.

I am really sad to hear this news!!! We just had breakfast there on Tuesday. It was great. We will miss the wonderful food and the wonderful people. I wish you well and hope that maybe you can reopen again with the same great service and food. God Bless!

A sad time for patrons at Doug & Barb’s Squirrel Tree Restraunt.
The food was much better than any of the previous owners could muster and the
conversations with D & B were always fun.
Previous owners never cared about conversation, cleanleness or food quality.
Dougs Prime Rib was the best as were many of there menue items.
I for one will miss the fun times, great food, and open every day atmosphere we all
came to know .
Whoever comes in next will have BIG shoes to fill. Will miss you guy’s, Jim Blanchard

It is with genuine sadness that I read that the date has arrived for Barbara & Doug to close the door to their wonderful Squirrel Tree Restaurant

First and foremost we will miss Barbara & Doug as members of our community.

Second we will miss them for the gastronomic oasis they created in our remote community.

The third item is that it is a genuine shame. This closure was forced upon them by persons in this community with questionable motives.

Lastly, I wish Barbara & Doug the very best as they chart a new course for their lives!

Jim,
I would like to know who is responsible for this travesty. My email address is ten.iwnnull@revefnibac. You can email me the details if you wish. This is a shame for sure. They are such nice people and deserve better from this community that I live in.

I am in total shock! My boyfriend & I eat here all the time on the way to and from our cabin. The food is always really great! Doug & his family are always so friendly! It’s always busy when we come, so I know we are not the only ones who love to come here to eat. I don’t know the reason behind the closure, but I hope that whatever it is, get resolved soon. Please keep us updated Randy. We would really appreciate that.
