Given the cinnamon coloring the thought crossed that this might be a Grizzly so we asked Rollie Schmitten before posting, Rollie checked with Fish and Wildlife and they ID’ed the bear as a ‘black bear’

Thanks for the information. I feel better as I grew up around Grizzlies and I know how mean and aggressive they can be.

I have heard back from two experts at the FGWA and they both said it is a black bear. They have received other pictures of the same bear that confirmed their opinion.
