From the Mail Bag

Here at Lakewenatcheeinfo.com, we receive a variety of mail. Somemetimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, and sometimes we just smile.

Our favorite this week was from Jennifer Elliott after her visit to Lake Wenatchee State Park.

To “Bob”, The Staff, Rick, Bruce and the many volunteers, please take a bow:

Dear Lakewenatcheeinfo.com,

We camped at the State Park recently.  I was extremely pleased with the condition of the camping facilities and camp sites, however, I was most pleased with the hospitality of all the employees working in the park.  When we packed up camp, my camera lens fell off my camera under the picnic table.  I was unaware until we were way down the road.  Several hours later I received a phone message from “Bob” that he found it and was mailing it to me based on my registration information.  I couldn’t believe it.  He even called me a second time to check the address information.  I was surprised that someone would go out of their way for a camera lens.  If it had been me, I probably would have thrown it away, thinking it was not that valuable.  Beyond the kindness of Bob, we were just pleased at how “nice” everyone was from the janitorial staff to the camp store cashiers.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful.  They seemed to really like what they were doing.  This is just unusual in my book, therefore, I just wanted to make note of it to whomever is receiving this, so they may thank Bob and just pat the rest of the staff on the back for just being kind and friendly.  It is contagious.

Thank you for a great time.

Thanks Jennifer (and Tim!) for taking the time to share some kind words. . .

“Bob” is one of our volunteer campground hosts. These folks put in 30 or more hours a week cleaning up campsites, answering questions, alerting rangers to problems . . . and just being generally helpful. The only compensation they recieve is an RV hook-up and lots of gratitude from park staff and visitors. We couldn’t do it without them!

We’re lucky to have dedicated, helpful folks working here as employees, volunteers, and in the two private concessions – Icicle Outfitters and the Lake Park Store. We really appreciate feedback, but particularly from those who are happy with their experiences here!
