This event was started in 2008 as a way to get together, have a little competition with our favorite foods and have fun. We are going to have the Free Raffle again this year. All the raffle items are donated by friends, local business, and family. If anyone has items they would like to donate to the Free Raffle, it would be very much appreciated, it could be just about anything- hats, tee-shirts, gag-gifts, re-gifts, etc.

HELLO TO ALL,
Attention- Cook-offers, Potluckers and Friends. We have had a lot of questions about the Judging and Entry Times and such, so we thought we’d better get the information out.
First and Foremost: This is an Open and Free event. Everyone is Welcome.
HISTORY:
This event was started in 2008 as a way to get together, have a little competition with our favorite foods and have fun.
If you want to come, you can cook onsite during the day, cook at home, or buy your dish from any store, restaurant, or business and bring it to this event.
NEW THIS YEAR you must bring something so that their will be enough food to go around or pay a fee.
NOTE: It is just for fun and sharing.
JUDGING:
As with the first four years we will have 4 or 5 Judges, judging the Beef, Chicken and Pork. We are going to have the crowd judge the Chili, Potluck Dish and the Dessert.
The judges will score each entry as follows- Appearance with a score of 1-9, Tendernace 1-9, and Taste 1-19. (Taste has the biggest impact on the overall score).
Each person who shows up will receive 1 colored ticket when they arrive and can vote on which Chili entry they like by dropping their ticket in the bucket next to the Chili entry they like.
Each person who shows up will also receive 1 score card to judge the Potluck and Dessert dishes, scoring from 1-9. Score cards will be turned in after Dinner.
No one has to enter their dish in the competition , but they MUST sign-in if they want to try to win a trophy.
TROPHY’S:
There will be a trophy for each division. Best Beef, Best Chicken, Best Pork, Best Chili, Best Pot-luck, Best Dessert
Grand Champion- There will be a trophy for the person with the highest combined score, which may come from one or several divisions. You can enter as many divisions as you want to, but can only enter 1- dish per division.
ENTRY TIMES:
Chicken turn-in time will be from 4:30pm to 4:45pm
Pork turn-in time will be from 4:45pm to 5:00pm
Beef turn-in time will be from 5:00pm to 5:15pm
NOTE: These are approximate times and could change due to the unknown number of entry’s and the fact that we are doing this for FUN!
Chili contestant should have their entry out for tasting by about 4;00pm
Potluck and Dessert contestants should show up by 5:45 as DINNER is at 6:00pm
Free Raffle will be after dinner.
Trophy’s will be awarded at the end of the event.
We hope that this helps to explain this event, if there are any questions feel free to email us at – moc.loanull@ffokoocwl
Come make this a fun event!
We would like more people to come and cook during the day (Starting this year if you don’t cook on-site your dish will automatically be entered in the Pot-Luck division.)We also want to start some tournaments during the day like Beer Pong and Golf Drives etc?
Regards
Tony
