Cross Country Ski Trail Information

Current Conditions: No ski reports will be updated Monday- Wednesday.  Trails will not be groomed Monday due to low snow cover in the North and South Parks and Kahler Glen.  Grooming will continue Thursday, as scheduled, assuming more snow falls this week.  See normal schedule below.
SnoPark permits are required at all locations.
South Park: Groomed Sunday. Watch for thin spots.
Nason Ridge:  Groomed Sunday. Should continue to be in good condition above the golf course.
North Park: Groomed Sunday.  Thin along lakeshore.
Chiwawa See and Ski:  Not yet groomed.

XC Trail Descriptions and Grooming Schedule:

South Park: Approximately 8 k groomed trails, double-tracked. Within the state park, the total includes a series of 1-3 km loops and longer runs through forest, along the lakeshore, and above the Wenatchee River for a total of 8 k. These trails will typically be groomed Thursday through Monday as conditions and equipment allow.

Nason Ridge Backcountry: This 20-kilometer groomed trail system begins at the Kahler Glen Sno-Park, within the South Park trail system. The first 7 k (known as “Lower Nason”) has rolling hills. At 7 k a challenging 13 k loop option begins (“Upper Nason”). The trail climbs 1,500′ to access miles of rolling, open, ridge-top terrain. The panoramic views of Lake Wenatchee, Glacier Peak, and the North and South Cascades from the top of Nason Ridge are spectacular. All trails are groomed with one track lane and a wide skating lane. We plan on grooming Lower Nason Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and the entire trail including Upper Nason Saturdays and Sundays. Challenging loop trip options are possible by way of the ungroomed Nason Ridge hiking trail. The great majority of this trails system lies on Longview Timber Company land. Many thanks to Longview Timber Company for allowing access!

North Park: The groomed trails in the North Park area provides 5.3 k of scenic trails which loop through the campgrounds, follow the river and lake shores, and run through quiet stretches of forest. This area offers a less-traveled alternative to the sometimes busy trails in the South Park area. These trails will typically be groomed, double-tracked with mini-skate lane (5.5 ft), four times weekly Thursday through Monday as conditions and equipment allow.

Chiwawa See and Ski: This Sno-park offers the “See and Ski” Trail, an 8 k groomed loop with a full skate lane (8 ft) and single track for the entire route. Trail passes through the forest and along the Wenatchee River. Osprey and the occasional bald eagle may be sighted here. This trail will typically be groomed Friday through Monday as conditions and equipment allow.

Snowshoe Trail Information: Trails not yet marked or tracked this season.

South Park: Here we offer a 1.8-mile loop trip. The route follows Wenatchee River and Nason creek then returns to the beach through a Ponderosa Pine / Douglas Fir forest.
North Park: A 2-mile loop is possible along river, lakeshore and through forest. Portions of the trail are marked, but not all due to variable snow cover: Visitors should be comfortable “finding their own way”.

Sled Hill: Sled hill groomed today!
