This morning (Thur. Aug. 19) I observed that the Lake was very rough; strong wind with white caps and rolling swells. I immediately decided that this was not a good day to go fishing. Soon after that my wife called out that there was a boat upside down on the lake. A neighbor in his large aluminum fishing boat went out to retrieve the boat and discovered 2 fishermen in the water and rescued them and the boat. I went out to help and found it difficult to maneuver our small boat and not safe to be on the water. Soon after this I spotted another boat (sail boat) floating down the lake and before it could be reached it over turned. Both boats are moored at our neighbors. The message to all is that this lake can be dangerous when windy especially with the small boats fishing for sockeye. Two people could have lost their lives this morning. Rollie Schmitten
