Rachel Scown attended the Shoreline Master plan meeting on Thursday and reports that the draft Shoreline Master Program has been published and is available through Chelan County Natural Resources (316 Washington St, Suite 401, Wenatchee). There is a CD available, also, which includes maps of the pertinent regions as well as the draft. It is suggested that the draft be reviewed by area of interest, i.e., Chelan County, rather than front to back. Discussion centered on public access, WAC relevance (corrections to be made prior to next meeting), vegetation conservation, residential development, shoreline stabilization, moorage facilities, etc.
A dynamic comment period ensues now, with County comments to be posted by July 7th, and outside comments completed by July 17th.
The next meeting will be held August 20th, 9 a.m.
