For all property owners in the Lake Wenatchee, Chiwawa, Plain and Ponderosa areas:
What was the core group of what is now the email distribution grouping of www.lakewenatcheeinfo.com began about 10 years ago when I started sending news of road closures, power outages, extreme weather, etc to just a few non-resident owners of places near mine on the South Shore. The grouping eventually grew to several hundred and was expanded to include home contact information for many of the absentee owners. On any number of occasions the information collected was used to notify owners of incidents at their property including trees down on the buildings, flooding or water problems, apparent break-ins or other damage. I’m a member of the fire department here at the lake and the information was used several times to contact owners to inform them of a fire response to their property. Several times I have been contacted by the Sheriff’s Department attempting to locate parties at the lake to pass on family emergency messages and was able to direct them to the family they were seeking.
If you wish to be included in this contact listing, email me directly at gwwilson@nwi.net providing your name, your Lake Wenatchee area street address, your email address and telephone numbers at which you can be contacted.
The policy I will follow in safeguarding or releasing this information are:
1. I will provide information upon request to public safety agencies such as fire, sheriff, medical aid units, etc. I do periodically provide an updated CD with current contact information for owners to the fire department to be used only to contact owners of properties involved in or impacted by a fire response, fire alarm, etc.
2. I will on a case-by-case basis assist one lake area resident in contacting his lake neighbors by either providing contact information or contacting the sought party and asking them to contact the party seeking contact.
3. I will not release the entire data base to any private party and none of the information currently held or collected in the future will be released or used for commercial, political or other non-essential uses.
If you have not already done so, I encourage you to also subscribe to the email distribution system on www.lakewenatcheeinfo.com . Once you do that you will receive daily updates on recently posted items on the website as well as “flash” email messages we send in the event of prolonged power outages at the lake, extreme weather, flooding, road closures and other community issues that affect us all. To subscribe, just go to www.lakewenatcheeinfo.com and on the right side of the screen click on Subscribe to Email.

Thanks for volunteering to do this George. Sounds like a great idea! Being a couple of hours away always has me concerned that info I need may not get to me in a timely manner.
