Good morning-
It’s just cruddy here today. We’ve had only about 1 inch of new snow since
y’day but this stuff is slush and it’s still coming down. Very heavy and
very wet- yuk!!! Forecast through the weekend shows snow and rain. For the
year we are now at a cumulative 243.75 inches at our place on the South
shore- the temp this AM is 35 degrees.
A lot of the roads are getting really narrowed down- the crews can ony push
this stuff back so far with the plows and this heavy stuff is hard to move
with anything including blowers. South Shore Road (Cedar Brae) I know is
down to pretty much one lane so please go slowly- someone is probably
going to have to give way or back up to get two vehicles past each other.
The county blower is broken down the last I heard so when it’s going to get
better I really don’t know. Also- PLEASE AVOID PARKING ON THE TRAVELED
ROADWAY because any small encroachment there now will not give the plows
room to get by and they just won’t come in at all then.
Local folks- please add a comment to this posting about the roads in your
area up here so other folks contemplating coming for the weekend will have
some idea of what localized conditions are.
It’s Friday and with that the weekly migration over Stevens. Before you
leave you might want to check the DOT website .
This AM it’s showing chains required on all but 4 wheel drive vehicles.
We love snow and winter and thats why we’re here but this is finally getting
to a lot of folks. Enough is enough. Think August!!
George
