Ice Returns

by Rob Shurtleff on January 26, 2008

For the second year in a row, it looks like Lake Wenatchee has frozen. With the exception of the inlet at the White River, see Lake Wen Cam 2 on the Picture of the Day post above, local reports and web cams are showing the ice solidified shore to shore last night. 5 Degree over night temps certainly helped.

If the ice holds (we expect will happen) we will have the second Lake Wenatchee Ice Break Charity Event, stay tuned.

Please keep kids, pets and friends close to shore; no one should venture out into the center of the lake, anywhere springs, creeks or streams enter the lake the ice will be thin. “ENJOY, but be careful out there!”
