Result review: The hard working crew at Ice Flag World Headquarters received an entry with check for Fire District #9, that had not been figured into the results. Anne Tilly has vaulted into second place with a March first entry of 1:01 PM. A double check by our auditors of the official spreadsheet found a few donations left out of the total, now standing at: $1130.
Sun Morning, 9 am. Can’t quite tell how far east the ice has melted, (once fiber arrives we’ll be looking for volunteers for a Brown Road and South Shore Cams).
Sat Afternoon, 4pm: Ice is going fast. in the last three hours the west end of the lake has cleared of ice, the wind is working the water down lake quickly. On Lake Wen Cam 2, the ice is almost completely gone except on the very east end of the view. Looks like Tim and Bunnie are double winners as the flag is definitely not sitting on the slush any longer. I think it is floating left of the far end of the dock, it was tied to the dock.
Sat Morning update 10am: (click on Lake Wen Cam link above to see current image) the wind is blowing, the Christmas tree fell over, the flag pole top tassle is blowing hard, if last years experience is any guide, the ice could all get “chewed” up by the wind this weekend. All that is needed is a little open water. None visible on Web Cam 2, from Ray’s place yet. stay tuned..
Friday:
I guess it is obvious in hindsight, Leap Day… closest entry, thus our winner of round #1
Tim and Bunnie Gellatly, 1pm March 1st. Pine River Ranch benefiting Fire District #9
Thank you to all players, big and small we raised $1070 Camp Zanika, the YMCA Camp, Chelan Douglas Land Trust, Fire District #9 and a number of other local charities.
Since the flag is still visible sitting toppled over on the ice /slush we’ll declare a 2nd place winner when the flag “floats”
