Groomer

by Dave Neir on January 22, 2008

It’s monday evening and I just saw two groomers driving over the north fish lake trail. This is the first time I’ve seen two groomers, one right after the other. Maybe the trail was pretty beat up from this weekends traffic? I’m looking forward to tomorrows grooming report since the weather will be beautiful!

The number 1 trail looks great this morning!

Who can I contact about volunteering to help Groom?

Hi Cris,

The actual grooming is contracted out and paid for by the State from gas taxes and license fees paid by snowmobile users. Also, the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club helps fund grooming. There are a number of people who volunteer and help maintain trails when needed. Also, they assist the Sheriff and Forest Service in patrolling. If you’d like to help, then the Rec Club would be your first stop. Our winter Search & Rescue group can use a few more volunteers also. There are some required federal classes you’d need to take along with first aid. Here’s the Rec Club web site for starters: http://www.lakewenatcheerecclub.com/
