<description>We had a Bear in our dumpster at the YMCA Camp two days ago on Monday Sept 8th. Scared me half to death as I was walking down to my office I saw the garbage spread out across the parking lot and two big piles of bear scat...out of the corner of my eye I saw a big black bear...he must have been scared too because we both rapidly headed in opposite directions. A smaller bear was trapped and hauled out of here by F&amp;W in June...this new bear has been in and out of camp over the past couple weeks but had stayed clear of our garbage dumpster until this week. We are parking the tractor bucket on it now to keep him out.

<description>North Shore Bears are on the prowl too... received the following from neighbor Ross:

Came face to face with the bear last night. I had set an empty metal garbage can on top of our garbage can yesterday so that the noise would alert us to the presence of the guy. I was in the kitchen at 9:30pm when the alarm went off so I looked out the window and there we were face to face. The bear was just outside the window looking directly at me and all of I sudden I was thinking that the window was not providing enough distance and matter between us. The bear was BIG. Cory and Spencer came to the window and agreed. The bear slowly backed away leaving by way of the path and driveway. He did not return for dinner.
I was surprised that he showed up so early, and I am not sure that I will ever be quite so casual about taking out the trash in the future.
