Airport XC Review
I was over at the lake for a few hours of "getting ready for winter to end" chores. 
I grabbed the skating skis and tried out the new "Airport" cross country trail. I mountain bike many of the roads the new trail traverses so the the terrain was familiar. Although the snow covered perspective was quite fun.
I thought it was going to be a bit boring. I was very positively surprised. Hitting the trail at 8:15 rewarded me with first tracks and very firm snow. The trail has a lot more slight ups and downs in it then I expected. The view loop at the outer end is fabulous. The terrain changes quickly from flat to climbing and descending small rolling hills. There was plenty of snow coverage.
Suggestions to the trail crew, building this out as a complete loop, ideally go back over towards fish lake and then returning to the airport would be really fabulous.
It was great to see other skiers out even early morning this morning.
Note the parking is in the snowmobile lot by the old dump. By afternoon it is VERY muddy so this is a trail you want to explore in the morning.
