The first boats headed up lake around 5 am to greet the 2008 sockeye season. There were about 75 boats out by 7:30. General impression was slow until the sun rose then there was lots of action on all sorts of gear. I only had a ‘knot free’ fly fishing net, I made it work…

A bit more activity, mostly boats returning, “limited out”. 8 rigs at the ramp 2 launching 6 retrieving. A couple of interviews indicates that fishing is excellent, as expected, estimates of about 100 boats fishing, 1 - 1/1/2 hours to limit for 2 - 3 persons. Not a whisper of wind on the lake.
