Snow, rain, lake level, etc Dec 5, 2007
Since the last update on this site on Monday we had rain much of the time
Monday and Tuesday. It tapered off late yesterday afternoon and temps have
cooled. The snow is still pretty heavy with all the rain it absorbed and a
little more crusty this AM.
With all the rain that came the lake level has come up a couple of feet but
is still probably 2 or 3 feet below Spring high water level. It should begin
to drop again this afternoon as the forecast does not show significant rain
expected. To stay aware of the expected lake levels take a look at this National Weather Service link and perhaps add it to your favorites on your computer. It is a USGS monitor
of the real-time river flow at Peshastin and the projected fluctuations
based on weather forecasts. It is usually pretty dependable as an indicator
of what the lake level is going to do.
For those that don’t have it already a good forecast pinpointed at the lake
can be found here. There are also good weather links on the left side of the LakeWenatcheeinfo.com homepage.
The County roads now seem to be in pretty good shape and the private snow
movers are making progress on individual driveways, etc.
