Greetings Friends of Lake Wenatchee YMCA Camp,
I am sending this email out to you today to inform you of our next volunteer work party on Saturday, October 6th, 2007…We need your help! The work will start at 8 am and conclude at around 5 pm. We will be providing lunch and dinner Saturday and for those who have to travel or would like to spend the night, breakfast on Sunday, as well as lodging for folks who wish to come up and volunteer. Kids are welcome. Anyone is welcome to arrive at camp Friday evening and work all or part of this weekend. There is a lot to do in order to prepare camp for the coming winter season. Some of the projects we will have going are:
Piling up debris and if conditions allow tending burn piles - Still Need lots of bodies for this Project
Cutting up downed Timber into Rounds splitting rounds into fire wood - This is the main project to be accomplished as we have over 20 cords of wood to put up to see us through the winter. Bring your chain saws/log splitters if you have them.
Shutting down the Water Front - Putting away canoes and Kayaks, securing the camp’s dock system for the winter
Shutting down the Archery Range - Removal of old archery targets clean up of debris left from last winter’s storms
Cleaning out wood stoves in cabins
Repairing screens and windows on cabins
and much, much more!
If you can, bring tools, we do have limited hand tools hand tools on hand, shovels, picks, rakes, ect. but could always use more.
