Camp Zanika Quilt Raffle
2007 QUILT RAFFLE FOR CAMP ZANIKA LACHE
THE QUILT IS FINISHED AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!
Hello Supportive Lake Wenatchee residents,
It has been such a busy spring with Camp Zanika, I haven’t been able to get this email out very quickly. This past weekend was the day for camp cleanup and everything looks wonderful for our first of the year User Group on May 19th.
Last year’s Quilt Raffle money has been used on many Camp Zanika projects. We now have full electrical service to the dining hall which has allowed us to install twelve lovely pendant/ceiling light fixtures. We have two pellet stoves and one wood burning stove installed in the dining hall. The roof peak will be fixed tomorrow so it no longer leaks and all dining hall ceilings have been insulated. The dining hall is ready for cold weather use…yippee!
Friends of Zanika raised approximately $65,000 last year through memberships, a foundation gift, the 2006 Quilt Raffle and other contributions. Wow, what a successful year!
This year’s quilt is another piece of art, donated by Rodie Burd of Gig Harbor, WA. She wants you to know it is a queen size dimension and the actual quilting work is noteworthy with the sun, quarter moon, and stars quilted into the material. I think it is fabulous!!
The tickets are $1.00 each, make your check out to Friends of Zanika and mail to me at:
16060 Cedar Brae Road, Leavenworth, WA 98826.
I hope all of you are well and happy…with great summer plans ahead!
Sincerely, Sandy Butler
